Please scroll to bottom of the page for our Covid booking and cancellation policy

*As from July 2020, we have the Visit England 'Good to Go' Covid-19 Industry Standard certificate and badge, to reassure our guests that we will be adhering to public health guidance, with the necessary processes in place. We also have the AA Covid-19 confident certifcation.

*
As of 25th September 2020, we have a QR code in place in the cottage, for those guests who have downloaded the NHS COVID-19 track and trace app.

*Our housekeepers have undergone an online course for environmental cleaning during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are liaising carefully with our housekeepers on the best way forward to protect the health and safety of all guests, our housekeepers, the local community and ourselves. This will also be in line with Government guidelines. Housekeepers will be wearing PPE during the clean, including mask, gloves, disposable apron and shoe covers

*The owners have completed a COVID-19 risk assessment and revised cleaning schedule.
We have sent this to a major tourism programme to be approved and to receive accreditation. The above AA Covid-19 confident certification has now been received. This will be adapted as necessary in a sometimes fast changing situation. Cleaning is always thorough, but will now include disinfecting areas and some other changes.

*Our arrival time is on your original booking contract. Please refer to this time and we politely request that you do not arrive any earlier than the time on the booking contract.Extra cleaning, takes extra time and the cottage may not be ready for you if you turn up early.
We are temporarily changing our departure time on your last day. Instead of leaving by 10am, we politely request that you vacate the cottage half an hour earlier, by 9.30am. This will allow our housekeepers to make an earlier start on the new cleaning and disinfecting regime. Please remember, this is for the health and safety of our guests, our housekeepers, the local community and ourselves.

*Guests will be provided with Dettol trigger spray, Dettol wipes and an antiviral trigger spray, to be used on hard surfaces, should they wish to do so. We will also provide anti bacterial soap. These items will be cleaned and disinfected at each changeover. As an additional measure, they will then be 'quarantined', so that each guest has fresh supplies that have not been touched for a number of days.

*Some soft furnishings, such as rugs and bed throws, will need to be removed, in accordance with guidelines.
We would ask dog owners, to please bring their own throws. Any remaining soft furnishings will be fresh just for your stay, having been laundered/disinfected and/or quarantined.

*As we have had to remove paper products, our usual list of dog friendly places to eat is no longer in the cottage. Instead, until we update our website, please visit the dog friendly pubs website for some suggestions

*Please dishwash items where possible, especially before you leave. The exception being our saucepans and oven trays which are not dishwasher proof. For these latter items, please wash thoroughly in hot soapy water. before leaving on the last day, we ask that you place items in the dishwasher that you have used in the last 72 hours and run it. Please empty this before leaving.

*The owners have purchased additional bedding, so that fresh, disinfected, duvets and pillows will be provided each time, and in addition, the outgoing bedding will be 'quarantined'.

*The owners always have provided good quality pillow and mattress protectors. We will now also be providing duvet protectors.

*Sofas and curtains will be vacuumed and spray disinfected.

*High touch areas, such as door handles, keys, light switches, window catches etc, will be cleaned and disinfected at each changeover.

*We will not be able to leave books, games etc, and again, this is for the safety of our guests and as per the guidelines, to reduce risk of cross infection.

*Some additional items will be removed and quarantined at each changeover, so that each new guest has a fresh supply. These items include cushions, tea/coffee/sugar containers, guest information booklet, clothes hangers, soap dispensers, cleaning and washing up items etc.

*We will not be able to leave our usual tourist information leaflets. Instead, we are busy building a comprehensive list of tourist attractions on our website page Places to visit/local information. Please bare with us as this is added to over time. For eating out, please see Local food and drink
During these uncertain times, we strongly recommend phoning the establishments to book, as availability and opening hours may be limited.

*All remote controls will be disinfected and placed in a sealed plastic bag [as already happens in some hotels] so that guests can be sure the remotes have been disinfected.

*We ask all guests, that if your area is returned to a local lockdown, that you please adhere to the government guidelines.

*These measures will be reviewed and added to on a regular basis and in accordance with the governments guidelines. If you are booked for a stay with us this year, please keep a check on this page.

*We would ask that any guests who displays symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with a person who has tested positive, arranges a test and awaits the results before arriving for their stay. We cannot accept anyone who has a positive test result or who has been self isolating without a test. Please inform us asap if this affects you and your visit. This is for the safety of all guest, our housekeepers, the local community, and ourselves.

*If you, or a member of your party, begin symptoms of COVID-19 during your stay in Marsh View Cottage, you must immediately vacate our cottage and head home to your primary residence to self isolate and be tested. If this happens to you/your party, you must inform us asap. If you develop COVID-19 symptoms within 14 days of returning back home, please also inform us asap.

*Finally, thank you for your patience and understanding.
We have very many returning guests. Whilst you may notice things appear a little different during these difficult times, we still aim to give you a wonderful stay.

Booking and cancellation policy during Covid-19 pandemic

During these uncertain times, our booking and cancellation policy is as follows :-

*For bookings in excess of £400 in total, we are not requesting a 25% deposit to secure the dates, but are instead requesting a flat £100 deposit to secure dates

*For bookings less than £400 in total, we are still requesting a 25% deposit to secure the dates

*For all bookings, we are temporarily suspending the balance to be paid 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. Instead, we are asking guests to not pay the balance until we request it nearer the time. We will then assess the circumstances and only request the balance if the stay is very likely to be able to go ahead. The time we request it will vary, depending on the Covid situation at the time, and may be anytime from 7 days to 6 weeks before the stay. In the unlikely event that the balance is paid, and then we enter a national lockdown or tiers and we are not allowed to have guests stay and/or guests due are not allowed to travel outside their local area, then we will either refund the balance paid or guests may use it as a credit towards a stay at a later time, subject to availability.

*We comply with all government guidelines. Currently [and this may change] only single households or one bubble are allowed to stay together in accommodation, until at least 17th May 2021. If you do not fall into one of those categories, your holiday cannot go ahead.

*Please note, if we are allowed to open, and guests are allowed to travel, but then choose to cancel their booking, then our normal T&C's will apply at all times and refunds will not be given or the booking date changed.

*Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance suited to your circumstances.
